September 2019 – Bacon in All Letters at Beaubourg, Paris

In September 2019, the Centre Pompidou presented an original exhibition dedicated to Francis Bacon and his relationship with literature. Through a display combining paintings, manuscripts, books, and archival materials, the exhibition revealed the literary influences that shaped the British artist’s creative universe.

Visitors were invited to explore how texts, poetry, and major literary authors inspired some of his most celebrated works. This perspective provided a deeper understanding of the intellectual richness of his art and the many references embedded within his compositions.

By creating a dialogue between visual art and literature, the exhibition offered a fresh interpretation of Francis Bacon’s work and demonstrated how different artistic disciplines can enrich one another.
