May 2016 – Huang Yong Ping at the Grand Palais, Paris

In May 2016, the Grand Palais opened its doors to a monumental installation by Huang Yong Ping as part of the MONUMENTA exhibition series. Beneath the vast glass roof of the nave, the exhibition transformed the space into a spectacular environment where cultural symbols, historical references, and reflections on the relationships between civilizations came together.

The work invited visitors to explore an extraordinary artistic setting designed specifically for the exceptional dimensions of the building. Each element interacted with the architecture of the venue, creating an immersive experience in which monumental scale became an artistic language in its own right.

This event became one of the highlights of Paris’s cultural calendar, demonstrating the ability of contemporary art to inhabit historic monuments while encouraging reflection on the transformations of the modern world. The exhibition attracted an international audience and reinforced the Grand Palais’s reputation as one of Europe’s leading venues for contemporary creation.
