June 2017 – David Hockney at the Centre Pompidou, Paris

In the summer of 2017, the Centre Pompidou organized a major retrospective dedicated to David Hockney on the occasion of his eightieth birthday. The exhibition traced several decades of artistic creation through an impressive selection of paintings, drawings, photographs, and digital works reflecting the constant evolution of his artistic vision.  

Visitors discovered the wide variety of subjects explored by the artist, from his iconic Californian landscapes to nature-inspired compositions and innovative experiments with technology and visual perception. The exhibition revealed an artist who continuously reinvented his practice while maintaining a distinctive artistic identity.

Thanks to its scale and diversity, the retrospective attracted an international audience and reinforced David Hockney’s position as one of the most influential artists of contemporary art.
