On 3 July 2026, the 78 Temple Venue, located in the historic Le Marais district of Paris, hosted the first major solo exhibition of Evelina TZURCAN, entitled “Innocenza di Aix.” The exhibition marked a significant milestone in the artist’s career and represented the first large-scale public presentation of a body of work developed over several years. Presented in an intimate setting, the exhibition brought together paintings exploring memory, beauty, inner experience, and the complex social contrasts of contemporary life.
The title of the collection, “Innocenza di Aix” (“The Innocence of Aix”), refers to the period during which the artist lived in Aix-en-Provence while studying Fine Arts. It was there that the concept for her first major series of paintings was conceived. Through these works, Evelina TZURCAN explores the duality of the world around her: the apparent harmony and beauty of the city coexist with less visible realities, including social tensions, injustice, personal experience, and human vulnerability.
The exhibition is centered on themes of memory, spirituality, emotional resonance, and the expressive potential of color. The artist approaches color not as a symbolic language but as an independent means of perception, inviting viewers to experience the work emotionally before interpreting it intellectually. Her layered oil painting technique, combined with a careful exploration of texture and chromatic relationships, creates a profound visual space in which the past continues to resonate within the present.
The project evolved over several stages. The first sketches and material studies were created in 2024. In 2025, the artist completed the exhibition concept, prepared its accompanying texts, and developed a coherent artistic narrative. The opening of the exhibition in the summer of 2026 marked the culmination of several years of creative work and the first public presentation of the collection.
The “Innocenza di Aix” exhibition represents an important milestone in Evelina TZURCAN’s professional career.
